Doctor Who with David Tennant Part 3 (2008)

Episode 1 Partners in Crime : Donna and the Doctor are reunited after an alien threat appears in the form of the villainous Miss Foster, who plans to use human beings as surrogates for her Adipose children, but does not reckon on the consequences of her actions.

**** Great story that allow us to know more about Donna Noble’s family and situation since ‘The Runaway Bride’ special.

Episode 2 The Fires of Pompeii : Donna and the Doctor face their greatest challenge yet as they learn whether established history can be changed. Finding themselves in 79AD, the time travellers discover beasts of stone running riot in the streets of Pompeii.

**** Moving story and I’m looking forward to watching the new BBC series of Atlantis …

Episode 3 Planet of the Ood : The Time Lord takes Donna far into the future to visit her first alien world. The duo discover shocking truths about the human race while on the planet Ood-Sphere, as the enslaved inhabitants struggle for survival.

*** I’m not fan of the Ood, poor things.

Episode 4 The Sontaran Stratagem  Part one : Former sidekick Martha Jones summons the Time Lord back to modern-day Earth, where an old enemy lies in wait. With mysterious devices spreading across the world, Donna discovers even her own family is not safe from the alien threat.

Episode 5 The Poison Sky Part two : The Sontarans activate their masterplan and begin to choke Earth, while Unit is left defenceless, with a traitor in its ranks. As interplanetary war edges closer, the Doctor considers making the ultimate sacrifice to keep Martha and Donna alive.

**** Martha is back!

Episode 6 The Doctor’s Daughter : The Tardis lands on the war-torn distant planet of Messaline, where a sample of the Doctor’s DNA is used to create his clone, a fiesty young woman determined to defend her new home. While Donna and Martha get to know the newcomer, their time-travelling friend remains distant, and worries he may no longer be the last of the Time Lords.

***** Crazily enough, Peter Davison’s daughter, Georgia Moffett was playing Doctor Who’s daughter in this episode and married David Tennant in 2011. That’s how the 10th Doctor Who became the 5th DW’s son in law… I love this episode and I wonder if we meet Jenny again.

Episode 7 The Unicorn and the Wasp : The Doctor takes Donna to 1926 where they meet Agatha Christie – on the day she famously disappeared for 10 days. A series of murders straight out of the writer’s books unfolds, and the Doctor’s investigation leads to a battle with a giant wasp.

***** Doctor Who meeting Agatha Christie! I love that story that explains Christie’s mysterious disappearance. If only …

Episode 8 Silence in the Library Part one : The Tardis takes Donna and the Doctor to the universe’s largest library, which was sealed up and abandoned 100 years ago amid stories of terrifying living shadows within.

Episode 9 Forest of the Dead Part two : The Doctor joins forces with Professor River Song as the Vashta Nerada advance, and is stunned by shocking revelations about his future.

***** Here comes River Song… ** Spoilers! ** … And here she dies! I cried even thought I didn’t know her. A very beautiful and moving story written by Steven Moffat. I’m looking forward to meet her again…

Episode 10 Midnight : An unknown presence joins the Time Lord and a group of tourists trapped on a shuttle travelling across a distant planet. When a fellow passenger starts mimicking the Doctor, paranoia sweeps through the cabin.

***** That  episode really scared me!

Episode 11 Turn Left : An alien clairvoyant dispatches Donna to a world where she never met the Doctor. Only Rose Tyler can help restore the timeline, but as the pair join forces, they hold the fate of all creation in their hands and the temp from Chiswick must face her greatest fears.

***** What if Donna never met the Doctor. Great episode and I’m so pleased to see Rose again…

Episode 12 The Stolen Earth Part one : When the Earth goes missing, the Time Lord and Donna brave the Shadow Proclamation in an attempt to discover the truth, but a terrifying old enemy waits in the background.

Episode 13 Journey’s End Part two : The fate of the universe hangs in the balance as the Daleks activate their masterplan. With the Time Lord and Rose imprisoned, and the Tardis seemingly destroyed, the only hope of survival lies with the Doctor’s secret army of companions. But as they join forces to battle Davros, Dalek Caan’s prophecy declares one of them will die.

***** The best 2 part story ever, my favourite anyway. All the companions and their families, helping as they can the Doctor to save the whole Universe. Every parting was emotional, especially with Donna and Rose. I already know I’ll miss David Tennant. He is THE Doctor.

Sci-fi adventure, starring David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Sarah Lancashire, Peter Capaldi, Phil Davis, Tim McInnerny, Freema Agyeman, Ryan Sampson, Georgia Moffett, Fenella Woolgar, Felicity Jones, Steve Pemberton, Alex Kingston, David Troughton, Billie Piper, John Barrowman, Elisabeth Sladen, Noel Clarke and Camille Coduri.
