The Next Doctor (Christmas 2008)
It’s Christmas Eve in 1851 and Cybermen stalk the snow of Victorian London. When the Doctor arrives and starts to investigate a spate of mysterious deaths, he’s surprised to meet another Doctor, and soon the two must combine forces to defeat the ruthless Miss Hartigan. But are two Doctors enough to stop the rise of the CyberKing?
***** David Morissey would have been a great Doctor with his Tethered Aerial Release Developed In Style… I love that story, funny sometimes and reminding me of Charles Dickens.
Planet Of The Dead (Easter 2009)
When a London bus takes an unexpected detour to an alien world, the Doctor must join forces with the extraordinary Lady Christina de Souza. But the mysterious planet holds terrifying secrets, hidden in the sand. And time is running out, as a deadly Swarm gets ever closer.
**** The flying bus reminded me of Harry Potter.
The Waters Of Mars (Aired on 25/11/2009)
Mars, 2059. Bowie Base One. Last recorded message: ‘Don’t drink the water. Don’t even touch it. Not one drop’. The Doctor faces one of his darkest adventures as he arrives on Mars to find a terrifying alien virus sweeping through the colony. But he knows the events of 2059 hold an important place in history and getting involved will mean taking the law of time into his own hands.
**** That episode makes me wonder what will happen in next year series since The Day Of The Doctor changed everything regarding the Time Lords’s history.
The End Of Time (Christmas 2009 and New Year 2010)
Part 1 : The Doctor’s psychotic nemesis the Master has been reborn, on Christmas Eve. With both determined to cheat death, the battle rages from the wastelands of London to the mysterious Immortality Gate, while the alien Ood warn of an even greater danger approaching, as a terrible shadow falls across the entire Universe.
Part 2 : The Doctor faces the end of his life as the Master’s plans hurtle out of control. With the sound of drums growing louder, and an ancient trap closing around the earth, the Doctor and Wilf (Donna’s grandfather) must fight alone. But sacrifices must be made, and deadly prophecy warns: ‘He will knock four times’.
***** The Master race ! John Simm everywhere… I didn’t see that one coming. The last ten minutes were pretty emotional with the Doctor’s goodbye’s through time, ending with his first meeting with Rose. That won’t be the same without David Tennant and the companions linked to his personality.
Sci-fi adventure, starring David Tennant, David Morrissey, Velile Tshabalala, Dervla Kirwan, Michelle Ryan, Lee Evans, Noma Dumezweni, Lindsay Duncan, Sharon Duncan Brewster, Bernard Cribbins, John Simm, Timothy Dalton, Catherine Tate, David Harewood, Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman, John Barrowman, Elisabeth Sladen, Noel Clarke, Jessica Hynes and Matt Smith.
