Drama set in 1952, following four fictional women whose extraordinary work at Bletchley Park during the Second World War helped break codes used by the German military. Susan, Millie, Jean and Lucy have returned to their normal lives, but when Susan identifies a hidden pattern in a series of murders, she enlists the help of her former colleagues to crack the case. They close in on the killer of the five girls, narrowing their list of suspects down to three men. However, a shocking discovery forces them to change their theories and they set a trap to catch the culprit using Lucy as bait – but the operation goes horribly wrong. Days later, Susan and her code-breaking allies seem to have finally tracked down the murderer, and attempt to confront the culprit. However, the pursuit of justice remains complicated – and as the women get closer to their target, they are forced to put themselves in grave danger.
Starring Anna Maxwell Martin, Rachael Stirling, Julie Graham, Sophie Rundle, Mark Dexter, Michael Gould, Anastasia Hille, Simon Williams and Steven Robertson.
I missed this three part drama when it aired on ITV last year. Watching months ago a TV show about crime dramas I heard that a second series was in the making. This story is original and a little scary, mostly for women. We’ll see next month if they succeed in surprising us again.
